When I Search for wine package on my Fedora 16 32+ bit with Gnome as the only DE in the search field I get these 3-4 icons representing wine package namely wine boot, wine configuraion, wine ole view, wine file. You should be able to install Fedora 17 alongside your current Fedora 16 if you have disk spaceĬode: john]# rpm -qa|grep -i john]# rpm -qa|grep -i john]# Do you mean you accidentally removed it? Lost it? Can't re download it? I'm not sure what you mean by the image is no longer there. (Untested by me for a long time though, so I might be wrong about that.) Note that sometimes, Windows serial numbers are tied to specific hardware-for example if you buy a Dell system, the Windows serial number may not work in VirtualBox. VirtualBox can be used to install Fedora 17, or a Windows system. So if you have myfile.exe in your home directory, and then change into your home directory and type wine myfile.exe it will, hopefully, install but there's a good chance it will fail with some error or another, at which point, you can google the error and see if anyone's gotten that particular program working. So, if you have a Windows exe file, you can try installing it with wine-the command will be wine filename.exe. It sometimes works well and sometimes does not work at all. Wine is for running Windows programs in Linux.
